Vasylenko Oleksandr Mykolayovych

Oleksandr Mykolaiovych Vasylenko (28 May 1952, Kyiv) is a soloist-vocalist of the National Ensemble of Soloists "Kyiv Camerata", People's Artist of Ukraine.
He was born on 28 May 1952 in Kyiv into a family of employees.

In 1969, he graduated from Kyiv Secondary School No. 187. In 1970, he joined the Soviet Army.

From 1977 to 1982, he studied at the Tchaikovsky Kyiv State Conservatory. He auditioned for Professor H. Sukhorukova, studied vocals with People's Artist of the USSR Larysa Rudenko, Svitlana Mateyuk, Maryna Yegorycheva, Iryna Kolodub, and in the chamber class with Zoya Lichtman.

Since 1982, he has worked in the vocal ensemble "Soviet Song" (reorganised into "Extra Factor" in 1985) at the Kyiv State Philharmonic. After the opening of the Kyiv Children's Music Theatre, he took part in its first performances. He continued to work in the vocal and instrumental ensemble "Nastriy". At the international competition in Vinnytsia (1986) and at the Golden Trembitas competition in Ternopil (1987), he won the third and second places. Later he became a soloist of the Philharmonic, and since 1993 - of the State Brass Orchestra.

Since 1994 he has been a soloist of the National Chamber Ensemble "Kyiv Camerata". He is a regular guest of the All-Ukrainian Festival of Ukrainian Song "Song Vernissage", a multiple winner of the "Song of the Year" festival and the "Song of the Year" radio festival. 3 From 2003 to 2012, Chairman of the Jury of the International Competition-Festival of Children and Youth Creativity "Starry Simeiz", member of the Jury of the All-Ukrainian Music Olympiad "Voice of Ukraine" [Archived 26 February 2022 at the Wayback Machine].

Creative awards
In 1999, at the International Festival "World of Music" (Italy), he was awarded the title "Owner of the Voice of Unique Beauty". In 2000, at the same festival, he won the Grand Prix and reaffirmed his title of "Owner of the Voice of Unique Beauty".

Laureate of the International Literary and Art Prize "Autumn Gold" named after Dmytro Lutsenko (2002).

Laureate of the Hryhoriy Skovoroda International Literary and Art Prize (2014).

Repertoire
The singer's repertoire includes works by classical composers, modern vocal music and hits of the past, songs of the world's peoples in the original languages; he performs with symphony, folk, brass and pop groups. He collaborates with contemporary Ukrainian composers: Oleksii Chukhrai, Leonid Popernatskyi, Valentyn Kasyanov, Hennadii Volodko, Oles Kolyada, Leonid Nechyporuk, Tetiana Oleneva-Stamati, Viktor Lifanchuk, Volodymyr Domshynskyi, Liudmyla Yermakova, and Volodymyr Ilemskyi. At one time, he worked fruitfully with Lyudmyla Vysocynska and Oleksandr Kushnariov. Performs songs based on poems by: Borys Oliynyk, Dmytro Lutsenko, Mykola Syngaivskyi, Mykola Lukiv, Vadym Kryshchenko, Hanna Chubach, Mykhailo Tkach, Pavlo Movchan, Mykhailo Shevchenko, Nina Shavarska, Leonid Fedoruk, and Yosyp Fishtyk.

Touring.
He tours a lot: Bulgaria, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland, Yugoslavia, Israel, Spain, Italy, France, North Korea, USA.

Creative work
He has released several audio discs. The most famous of them are "In Retro Style", "I Look at the Sky", "I Will Not Forget You", "It's Not Autumn Yet", "One More Spring", "Flower of the Night Garden", "I Feel Good with You".
