Romanenko Andrii Viktorovych

Andriy Viktorovych Romanenko (15 March 1971, Ulyanovsk) is a Ukrainian opera singer (tenor), soloist of the National Opera of Ukraine, People's Artist of Ukraine (2013).

Biography.
Born in Ulyanovsk. He graduated from the Ulyanovsk Music College with a degree in accordion in 1990. The same year he entered the Kyiv Conservatory. He studied with People's Artist of Ukraine, Professor Volodymyr Tymokhin, who persuaded him to sing tenor rather than bass. He graduated from the Conservatoire in 1995.

From 1990 to 1994, he was a soloist at the Dumka State Academic Choir of Ukraine. In 1994, a year before graduating from the Conservatory, he became a soloist at the National Opera of Ukraine.

Creative activity
On the stage of the Kyiv Opera, he has sung many different roles.

In addition to performances on the opera stages of Ukraine (Donetsk, Lviv), he also sang roles at the Mussorgsky St. Petersburg Opera House (La Traviata), the Royal Festival Hall in London (Aida, La Boheme), Glasgow and Manchester Opera Houses (La Boheme, Tosca), the Calderon Theatre in Madrid (Aida), and others.

He has taken part in prestigious opera festivals in Edinburgh (Scotland), Taiwan and other places. He has performed solo concerts in many cities of Ukraine and other countries, including Russia, Canada, Holland, and Cyprus.

Together with People's Artists Oleksandr Hurtz and Oleksandr Dyachenko, he performs at concerts in Ukraine and abroad as a trio of tenors.

His recordings on the National Radio of Ukraine, a CD with a recording of Verdi's Requiem (France, 1996) are available.
