Penyuk-Vodonis Olga

Olha Volodymyrivna Peniuk-Vodonis (born July 20, 1954 in Magadan, Russia) is a Ukrainian music educator, composer, and poet.
She was born into a Ukrainian family of political prisoners on the Kolyma in the city of Magadan.

She graduated from the Magadan Music College, where she studied music theory (1973).

In the same year, she moved to Chernivtsi, where she worked at the Music School No. 4. In 1974, she moved to the city of Sokal. Her father was from the Sokal region.

She has been teaching at the Sokal Children's Art School named after V. Matiuk for over 45 years, heading the Department of Music Theory and Choral Singing. She has the title of senior lecturer and lecturer of the highest category.

Head of the creative studio "Zoretzvit", Sokal. She has the title of Honorary Citizen of Sokal.

Musical activity
Olha Peniuk-Vodonis has created more than 360 songs. Her works are performed at children's song competitions and festivals in Ukraine and abroad in the diasporas of Australia, America, Italy, Canada, Kazakhstan, Poland, Slovenia, Greece, etc.

She works with many poets from different regions of Ukraine and the diaspora. Performers of her songs are young singers, winners and diploma winners of regional, interregional, national and international competitions and festivals.

Peniuk's songs have been published in the magazines Neskoreni, Vysokyi Zamok (Lviv), the almanac Prozvosen (Chervonohrad), and Sokolynyi Krai (Sokal).

The Lviv publishing house "Ukrainian Technologies" published Peniuk's collections:

13 collections of songs: "Christmas Bells" (2002), "The Land of Childhood" (2003), "Cherry Blossom" (2004), "Colored Rain" (2006), "Gift of Heaven" (2008), "Seven Cheerful Notes" (2013), "Under the Delicate Rose Petals" (2014); "Musical Kaleidoscope" (2018), "Goodbye Kindergarten" (2019), "Songs are a Wonderful Moment" (2020), "My Wonderland" (2021), "Musical Beads" (2022), "A Tale of Christmas Dreams" (2023).

All of Olha Peniuk's song collections and her CD "Zorepad Pisny" were developed and designed by Olha Borysenko, a lecturer at the Lviv Academy of Printing, an artist and designer working at the Ukrainian Technologies Research and Production Foundation.

The artist Andrian Banakh, a graduate of the Lviv Academy of Printing, illustrated the songbook "Cherry Blossom", "Colored Rain" designed and illustrated children's poetry collections "In the Periwinkle Land", " In search of a rainbow". The poets N. Shavarska, Y. Khoma, artists A. Banakh, M. Kamenivska, N. Shavarska, Y. Futysh worked on the piano collection "Amazing Moneybox".

Public activity
Member of the Ukrainian Writers' Association.

Member of the All-Ukrainian Association "Writers of Boikivshchyna".

Musical director of the folk vocal ensemble of the Union of Ukrainian Women of Sokal "Berehynia".
