Ukrainian pianist, jazz composer, author of seven published albums.

Biography

Pavlo Ihnatiev was born on December 10, 1973. Since early childhood, Pavlo Ignatiev has shown great interest in music. His parents noticed his aptitude and sent him to study at the Kyiv Music School No. 5. Pavlo spent some time in Odesa, where he continued to study at the Stolyarsky Odesa Music School, but he spent most of his childhood in Kyiv, studying at the Lysenko Secondary Specialized School. According to the composer himself, this school had talented and caring teachers, his first concerts and musical achievements.

Pavlo entered the Kyiv State Conservatory, specializing in piano, and after two years of studying there, at the invitation of Sandor Weg, he went to Krakow to study chamber and orchestral classical music at the Mozart Academy. Later, Pavlo took a course at the jazz faculty of the Hannover Hochschule, as well as the Mozarteum special piano course of Professor D. Bashkirov and the special piano course of Professor Alfons Kontarsky at the Sommerakademie der Hochschule Mozarteum (Salzburg).

In 1993, he participated in the Vilnius Jazz Festival (Lithuania) and in the Gidon Kremer's festival of contemporary classical and chamber music "Kremerata" in Lokenhaus, Austria (1994).

Since 1994, he has been performing and composing. Now he composes music and gives concerts both in Ukraine and abroad. All of his albums are available for free download from his website. Pavel Ignatiev's music is regularly played on Ukrainian jazz radio stations Music Radio, Radio Continent, etc. and is also widely popular in social networks that support music file sharing, such as ex.ua VKontakte and RuTracker.org. Pavlo has been featured on Ukrainian national TV channels.

Critics' reviews and public perception

The famous Ukrainian music critic Oleksiy Kogan has repeatedly invited Pavlo Ignatiev to his author's concerts "On the Jazz Wave...", organized by the production center Jazz In Kyiv, and also praised Pavlo Ignatiev's work in his author's program "Saturday with Kogan" on Music Radio.
