Zoldenko-Kruglov Volodymyr Ivanovych

1884-1971

Ukrainian opera and drama singer (baritone).
Biography

In 1909 he graduated from the Law Faculty of Kyiv University. He studied singing at the Tutkovsky Kyiv Music School.

He performed at the Mykola Sadovsky Theater in Kyiv in 1909-1912, at the Kyiv Opera House in 1913-1919, in Odesa in 1923-1924, and in Sverdlovsk in 1924-1925.

He was the first to perform the role of Aeneas in Lysenko's Aeneid in 1910,

in Kyiv - Aglay Khan in D. Sichynskyi's "Roksolana's Prisoner" in 1912,

Janusz, "Pebbles" by Moniuszko.

His performance partners were Semen Butovsky, Trofim Ivlev, M. Z. Lebedieva, Denys Myronenko, Olena Petliash, Yevhen Rybchynsky, and Mykola Chornomorets. He sang under the direction of Gustav Yelinek.

He was known for his excellent performances of Ukrainian folk songs and works by Ukrainian composers.
