Zlotnik Oleksandr Yosypovych

1948

Ukrainian composer. People's Artist of Ukraine (1998). Rector of the Reinhold Glier Kyiv Municipal Academy of Music since 2009.

Biography.

Born on November 15, 1948 in Tarascha, Kyiv region.

He studied at the Mykola Lysenko Music Boarding School in Kyiv. He lived in a dormitory next to Volodymyr Ivasyuk, his future co-author.

Graduated from the Tchaikovsky Kyiv State Conservatory, majoring in accordion and conducting, and the Nezhdanova Odesa State Conservatory, majoring in composition and music theory.

Member of the National Union of Composers of Ukraine.

President of the International Festival "Slavic Bazaar" in Kyiv (2000), where the legendary Michel Legrand, a co-author of Oleksandr Zlotnyk, was the chairman of the jury.

Oleksandr Zlotnyk is the author of music for many films, opera-dumas, musicals, symphonic works, chamber and instrumental music, choirs, etc. He is the author of more than a thousand songs performed by Nazariy Yaremchuk, Vasyl Zinkevych, Oksana Bilozir, Lilia Sandulesa, Ivo Bobul, Oleksandr Tyshchenko, Svitlana and Vitaliy Bilonozhky, Alla Kudlay, brothers Dmytro Yaremchuk and Nazariy Yaremchuk (junior), Pylyp Zhmacher, Pavlo Zibrov, Natalia Buchynska, and Kateryna Buzhynska.

Author of the music and entertainment TV and radio project "Shlyager of the Year".

Married, father of three children.
