In the vast majority of songs by Y. Zlonkevych, there are features of his artistic nature: a harmonious worldview, linguistic and stylistic orientation towards the heritage of traditional Ukrainian song lyrics. (...) Y. Zlonkevych renews the genre nature of the song, and in a certain way, Ukrainizes it. By content - lyrical, rural, urban; by form of performance - solo and ensemble, with instrumental accompaniment or "a cappella" (i.e., without instrumental accompaniment). (...) Dramatic moods flare up in his songs. ) Dramatic mood outbursts give way to lyrically focused music based on a recitative and chanting theme, which is full of reflections and captivates the listener with its colorfulness, improvisational and folklore intonations of expression and pain (sometimes at the level of sharply dissonant sounds). The composer uses polyphonic polyphony and instrumental overplay. The music is dominated by gently dissonant intervals and chords, which contributes to the creation of a lyrically enlightened, sunny flavor. As a rule, the artist tries not to go beyond the lyrical and mournful, restrained flow of music. Tatiana Digai.
