Zhuravchak Oleksandr Petrovych

Oleksandr Petrovych Zhuravchak (born 8 February 1979, Stebnyk, Lviv oblast, Ukrainian SSR, USSR) is a Ukrainian virtuoso musician (flute and folk wind instruments), winner of the First International Competition of Folk Instrument Performers (Khmelnytskyi, 1995, III prize), the International Competition of Folk Instrument Performers named after G. Shenderov (Vladivostok, Russia, 1997, I prize), the Second International Competition of Folk Instrument Performers named after G. Hotkevich (Kharkiv, 2001, III prize), the First All-Ukrainian Competition of Folk Instrument Performers named after G. Shenderov (Vladivostok, Russia, 1997). Education.
Graduated from the Drohobych Barvinsky Music College (1996), Ivan Franko Drohobych Pedagogical University, Faculty of Music and Pedagogy (1998), Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts (2001, class of Prof. V. Turbovsky), postgraduate studies at KNUKiM (2004). He has trained 9 laureates and diploma winners of International and All-Ukrainian pipers' competitions.

Administrative activity
1996-1998 - head of the art club "MIF" at the public organisation "SIMYS" in Kyiv. Stebnyk.
2002 - PR-manager of the All-Ukrainian Congress of Creative Youth
Since 2002 - Senior Lecturer at the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts.
2003-2004 - First Deputy Chairman of the Board of the All-Ukrainian Creative Union "Forum of Creative Youth of Ukraine"
Since 2006 - Director of the public organisation Centre for the Development of Creativity "Lileia"
Since 2007 - member of the organising committee of the World Caravan "Interculture" in Ukraine

2008-2010 - Head of the Department of Arts and Education of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Ukraine
2011 - co-organiser of the 67th World Congress of Young Esperantists in Kyiv
2011 - co-producer of the Eco-Culture World Caravan and General Producer of the Ecology of Communication International Concert Tour
2012 - Cultural Advisor to the President of the World Congress of Ukrainian Youth Organisations in the Diaspora
Since 2013 - Representative of the World Congress of Ukrainian Youth Organisations in the Diaspora in Ukraine
From 19.03 to 12.12. 2014 - Deputy Minister of Culture of Ukraine.
2017 - artistic director of the Kyiv Ethno Music Festival "Virtuosos of Folk"
2018 - author and director of the first instrumental musical of the musical fantasy show "Lords of the Elements"
2020 - producer and director of the NAONI Project "Guts and Roll"
Since 2022 - Managing Director of the National Orchestra of Folk Instruments of Ukraine
Civic position
Unlike Yevhen Nyshchuk and the majority of his team at the Ministry of Culture in 2014-2019, Oles Zhuravchak was critical of the reform of art education initiated by the Ministry, considering its innovations to be "significantly lowering and levelling the state standards of primary art education".

Pedagogical activity
1999-2000 - a teacher of the flute class at the Strytiv Higher Kobzar School.
Since 2001 - a teacher of ethno-brass instruments at the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts.
Professional creative activity

1993-1998 - soloist of the folklore and ethnographic ensemble "Dzherela Karpat" in Truskavets. Truskavets.
Since 1996, he has been working with the Orchestra of Folk Instruments of the National Radio Company of Ukraine.
1998-2001 - soloist of the folk music ensemble "Budmo!"
1998-2001 - soloist of the folk music ensemble "Dnipro", Pechersk District Administration of Kyiv
Since 2000 - the beginning of cooperation as an artist of the percussion ensemble "ARS NOVA".
2003-2008 - soloist of the song and dance ensemble of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
2004-2008 - artistic director of the folk music ensemble "YaroSvit" at the song and dance ensemble of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
2005-2007 - musical director of the ethno-rock band "Vognesmih"
2011 - creative director of the band "FolkTon"
Concert activity
In addition to concerts in Ukraine, he has toured in 30 countries around the world - Russia, Belarus, Moldova, Estonia, Uzbekistan, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Germany, Austria, Holland, Belgium, France, Italy, Cyprus, the USA, Norway, North Korea, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Sweden, Ireland, China, Japan, Switzerland, Portugal, Spain, Serbia and others.
