Zhylinskyi Oleksandr Yevhenovych (born December 1, 1955, Berdiansk - died December 12, 2020) was a Soviet and Ukrainian composer, actor, singer, Honored Artist of Ukraine (1995). He was a member of the National Unions of Theater Workers and Composers of Ukraine, a member of the Association of Variety Artists.
In 1977, he graduated from the Kyiv State Institute of Theater Arts named after I. Karpenko-Kary, and in 1987 - from the Kyiv State Conservatory named after P. Tchaikovsky, majoring in composition. Oleksandr Zhylinsky's creative activity as a composer began in 1972. He was engaged in teaching and production work at the Kyiv School of Circus and Variety Arts and at the I. Karpenko-Kary Kyiv State Institute of Theater Arts.
Oleksandr Zhylinsky is the author of symphonic and chamber music, oratorios, musicals, music for television and theater productions, films, as well as more than two hundred songs based on poems by famous poets, including Yuriy Rybchynsky, Yuriy Melnychuk, Andriy Dementiev, and Oleksiy Kononenko. Mykola Karachentsov, Valentyna Tolkunova, Taisiia Povalii and other artists performed songs by Oleksandr Zhylinskyi. More than 20 music videos have been filmed for Zhylinsky's songs. His songs in the author's performance and performed by other artists were released on audio cassettes and disks in Ukraine, Canada, Russia, Belarus, Poland (1989-2012).
