An extraordinary representative of Ukrainian musical actionism (along with Volodymyr Runchak and Serhiy Yarunsky). In the words of the composer himself, his "creativity nourishes what goes beyond logic into the realm of the illogical - for example, when things that are usually taken seriously and with great reverence in society are transformed into something completely inadequate."

Serhiy Zazhytko does not consider himself a purely "academic composer". In particular, S. Zazhytko joined the Russian rock movement, creating several songs in this genre, which were included in the album "Twice Born" with S. Pilyutikov
