Zarkov Vladimir Grigorievich

Volodymyr Hryhorovych Zarkov (born 22 June 1945, Haisyn - died 21 June 1999, Kyiv) was a Ukrainian singer (tenor) and teacher; People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR since 1978.
He was born on 22 June 1945 in the town of Haisyn, Vinnytsia region, to an artist and a housewife. He was the fifth and youngest child in a large family[1]. He studied at Haisyn school No. 5. Since childhood, he was engaged in singing, participated in the work of the vocal circle of the House of Schoolchildren. He repeatedly won district amateur shows, performed at regional shows, festivals, and competitions. After graduating from school, he studied at the Vinnytsia Music College. He has been a member of the CPSU since 1967. From 1969 to 1974, he studied at the Kyiv Conservatory (teachers Mariia Yehoricheva, Anatolii Markhlevskyi).

In 1965-1987, he was a soloist of the song and dance ensembles of the Kyiv Military District, in 1987-1994 - of the Western Group of Troops of the Soviet Army (later - the Armed Forces of Russia, Germany). At the same time, in 1974-1987 and 1994-1996, he was a soloist of the opera studio at the National Music Academy of Ukraine. In 1994-1996, he was a lecturer at the Kyiv Institute of Culture.

He died in Kyiv on 21 June 1999.

Biography
His repertoire included works by Ukrainian and foreign composers, arias from operas, folk songs, and romances. He also sang in a duet with Oleksandr Tarants. In 1996, he recorded the audio album "Krynytsia".
