Zagorodnyuk Roman Oleksandrovych

1960

Soviet and Ukrainian theater and film composer. Honored Worker of Variety Arts of Ukraine.

Biography.

Roman Zahorodniuk was born on June 5, 1960 in Odesa.

From the age of 16, he was fond of music and played guitar in a band in Balta. In 1979 he joined the army. Since 1982 he was a member of the band "Seasons of the Year" from 1985 to 1989 he began to write music for the movie in 1985 he wrote music for the movie Pure Change and 3 years later Igor Talkov wrote poetry for this melody, which formed the basis of the song "Summer Rain".

In 1989 he was a guitarist and founder of the band Grand Hotel.

In 1991, he became a composer for the Mosfilm film studio, and in the same year he wrote the soundtrack for the film Awakening, about the biography of Anatoly Kashpirovsky.

Roman has composed music for 16 feature films with Mikhail Efremov, Elena Safonova, Galina Polskykh, Daniel Olbrichsky, Natalia Varley, Sergei Makovetsky and many other famous actors and directors.

From 1994 to 1996, he was the artistic director of the Theater Artists Club at the Stanislavsky Theater in Moscow.

From 1996 to 1999, he became a music producer and art director at Beverly Hills Productions under the direction of Chuck Norris.

In 2000, he decided to try his hand in Ukraine and was invited by Studio Rostock as a music producer.

In 2005, Audi released a collection of Roman Zagorodniuk's theater and film music and every Audi car was sold with the composer's CD.

Since 2010, he has been collaborating with well-known film companies as a composer.

Since 2016, he has been working with the Venice Symphony Orchestra. He composed the anthem of the city of Venice with lyrics by Zoya Nechaeva.

In 2017, the European Guild of Film Composers recognized the 20 best European hits of the 20th century. This number included the soundtrack to the movie "Butterflies" written by composer Roman Zahorodniuk.

In 2017, he composed the music for the film Reaching Out to Love by the Black Square Improvisation Theater and Studio.

Since 2021, Roman Zagorodniuk has been a creative director and music producer at Page Group.
