Ukrainian singer, former member of the band KURBASY. Revives little-known authentic songs from different regions of Ukraine. Combines folk song, a special authentic voice and minimalist electronics in his work.
Biography.
Graduated from the Dudaryk Choir School in Lviv (2002) and the Faculty of Law at Kyiv International University (2007).
Since 2006 he has been engaged in traditional singing.
He is a student of the Natalia Polovynka singing school and director Serhiy Kovalevych.
He has participated in projects at the intersection of music and theater, including: "Station Voice" (Les Kurbas Center, Kyiv), the artistic association "Song Workshop" (Lviv), the theater center "Word and Voice" (Lviv), "Psalm. Journey", international artistic resource "Song of Songs", In Medias Res international ensemble.
Conducts master classes based on folk and spiritual singing.
Since 2014, she has been running the website and page of the Drevo Ensemble from Kriachkivka.
From 2018 to 2020, he led a group in Lviv to study the songs of Kriachkivka, where he discovered the principles of singing together with young people, organized master classes and concerts.
In 2018, he graduated from the Vedel School with a degree in Ableton and music production.
Since 2018, he has been looking for new forms for the existence of traditional music. The result of this search was his first solo project "New Psalm. Maidan" in collaboration with Denys Strashnyi (Dokutoloka).
From 2019 to 2021, he was a singer in the KURBASY band.
Since 2019, Yuriy Yosyfovych's second solo project-experiment "HEART. NEW AUTHENTICITY" has been going on. It is based on little-known authentic songs from different regions of Ukraine. Yosyfovych is looking for and trying to convey their essence to a modern audience. The project "HEART. NEW AUTHENTIC" reveals the richness of Ukraine's authentic song culture to a wider audience through a combination of folk songs, a special voice, and minimalist electronics.
In the summer of 2020, the first album "HEART. NEW AUTHENTIC" was released and in October 2021 - the second.
In 2021, his first directorial work was the film "Tree | Love", based on the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the famous Drevo ensemble in the village of Kriachkivka.
In 2021, Yuriy Yosyfovych's project "NEW AUTHENTIC. Songs of Strength for Difficult Times" was supported by the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation and included training, the creation of 5 songs and videos for them, and a concert in Lviv.
On October 3, 2021, the National Philharmonic of Ukraine, with the support of Krayina Mriy, hosted the first acoustic concert of the NEW AUTHENTIC with piano, double bass, percussion, and voice.

The release of the video for the song "In enemy's evil blood" ("Testament" by Taras Shevchenko) about a full-scale war with Russia took place on 23.08.2022 on the pages of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In 2022, he began writing his own music for songs ("Fight", "Veronica", "Beyond the Mountains").
