Yanitskyi Yosyp Kuzmovych

1939-2022

Ukrainian singer, bandura player, teacher, Honored Artist of Ukraine (2005), member of the National Union of Kobzars of Ukraine, Kyiv.
Biography.

In 1960 he graduated from the Rivne Music College (class of A. Hrytsai), in 1965 - from the Mykola Lysenko Lviv Conservatory (class of Professor V. Herasymenko). Since the same year he has been a teacher, head of the Peremyshlyany Children's Music School in Lviv region, since 1969 - soloist of the Kyiv Orchestra of Folk Instruments, since 1978 - soloist of the Bandura Quartet of the Kyiv Philharmonic, since 1982 - artist of the Honored National Bandura Chapel of Ukraine. He created a family quartet.

Participant of festivals: "Kobzar Vernissage" (Kyiv, 1988), "Cossack Song" (Zaporizhzhia, 1990), "Shevchenkiana in Tallinn" (1989), "Lesini Dzherela" (Novohrad-Volynskyi, 1992-1995), "Ukrainians of the World, Let Us Unite" in Kyiv.

He is the author of the song "Ballad about the kobza" based on the words of M. Maslo, and the ballad "Under Berestechko" based on the words of Mykola Vingranovskyi.

Yanitsky's son Taras Yanitsky is a bandura player and Honored Artist of Ukraine.
