early years
He was born on July 31, 1973 in the village of Verbivka, Kamian district, Cherkasy region, in a family of farm workers. Later, the family moved to the village of Chervyn Kut, where Vinnyk graduated from high school. Played the guitar in the amateur VIA. He performed on the stage of the Cherkasy Society of the Blind, of which his mother, Anna Yakivna Vinnyk, was a member.
He continued his education at the Kaniv school of culture, majoring in "Leader of an amateur folk choir". As part of the cultural exchange program, he completed an internship in Germany, in particular, in Firzen. On the streets of Firzen, he first saw the poster of the musical "Phantom of the Opera", after which he became interested in this genre.
After school, he worked in the Cherkasy Regional Philharmonic as an artist and soloist of the Cherkasy Honored Ukrainian People's Choir named after Shevchenko. At the same time, he was preparing for work abroad — he took private German lessons. In 1996-1997, he worked as an au pair in Bienenbüttel, Germany. He worked as a governor for the sons of a local surgeon. After the end of the work contract under the Au pair program, he briefly returned to Ukraine.
Simultaneously with his work, for two years, he took private lessons to improve his singing technique from the American pianist and vocal teacher John Leeman in Hamburg. Before these classes, Oleg sang with a baritone, after them, the vocal spectrum expanded significantly, the singer mastered a new vocal range of a lyrical-dramatic tenor.
Music career
Soloist of musicals
During his stay in Germany, he received an offer from the Lüneburg Theater in Lower Saxony, where he continued his career, performing parts in Puccini's opera "Tosca" and Légar's operetta "Paganini" at the theater in Lüneburg. He studied for two years in Hamburg under the leadership of vocal teacher John Lehmann. The first tests in the musical genre were the roles of Lucentio ("Kiss me Kate" (1999-2001), Phoebus and Clopen ("Der Glöckner von Notre Dame" (2001-2002). The next two years he performed two roles in the musical "Titanic"): captain Robert Hitchens and Brico, a second-class passenger, and also worked in the ensemble.
Then he played the role of Jean Valjean in the musical "Les miserables" based on the novel of the same name by Victor Hugo. Oleg Vinnyk performed the role of Jean Valjean in "The Wretches" 285 times. His constant partner on the stage was Uwe Kreger, a star of musicals in Germany, who played the role of Inspector Javert. The next role was the role of the Black Prince - Death in the musical "Elisabeth", which Oleg began performing in 2005.
To make it easier for Europeans to pronounce his name, he took the stage name OLEGG.
Since the beginning of 2005, he performed the main role in the musical Elisabeth - Der To (The Black Prince, Death) in one of the theaters in Stuttgart.
Since 2007, he toured Switzerland with the musical "Les Misérables".
Solo career
According to the artist, he wrote his first song "Scent of my dream" in 2003. The first solo performances were in Germany. In 2004, he performed at the gala concerts "Künstler gegen AIDS" ("Artists against AIDS") and Doctors for Third World countries in Berlin. In 2005, Vinnyk performed at the gala concert against the catastrophe in Asia "Höre auf dein Herz" ("Listen to your heart") in Berlin.
In 2006, after another performance, Vynnyk met Oleksandr Horbenko, a businessman with no experience working with artists, who became Vynynyk's producer in Ukraine.
In 2011, the singer returned to Ukraine and presented his debut album "Angel". He began to be invited to group concerts, including on Independence Square, on Kyiv City Day. In 2012, he released his second album "Happiness".
In 2013, Oleg Vinnyk released the first Ukrainian-language album "Roksolana".
In 2019, according to TopHit, Oleg Vinnyk collected 93,076,017 views on YouTube.
In March 2022, he released a cover version to the music of the national anthem of Ukraine as a sign of support for Ukraine's resistance to the Russian military invasion.
Concert activity
Vinnyk's first solo concerts with the program "About you" took place in Mykolaiv and Yalta in 2013.
On October 7, 2013, Oleg Vinnyk went on an all-Ukrainian concert tour, which ended in May 2014 with the Great Solo Concert Show "Happiness" at the National Palace of Arts "Ukraine". Exactly one hundred concerts and one hundred sold-out concerts in less than a year.
On February 8, 2014, Oleg Vinnyk represented Ukraine with a concert program at the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi.
On September 20, 2014, Oleg Vinnyk's All-Ukrainian charity tour of Ukrainian cities started as part of a joint project with the "Path to the Future" Charitable Foundation.

On May 20, 2018, Oleg Vynnyk went on the Great Stadium Tour, which covered the main stages of Ukraine and Belarus, as well as more than 10 stadiums, the program "You are in the know". On June 2, 2018, one of Vinnyk's largest concerts took place - the artist gathered more than 20,000 spectators at the Lviv Arena. The tour ended on November 7 with a concert at the Kyiv Sports Palace.
On July 3, he became the headliner of the Atlas Weekend festival. According to the organizers, Vinnyk gathered 150,000 spectators, which is a record for the artist.
In March-April 2019, Oleg Vinnyk made a mini-tour with the program "For me, you are gold".
In May 2019, Oleg Vinnyk's first European tour took place.
On May 14, 2019, he gave a free concert in memory of his parents in his native village of Chervyn Kut, Cherkasy region, gathering more than 30,000 spectators.
Privacy
Vinnyk reluctantly talks about his personal life to the Ukrainian mass media after gaining popularity. In 2018, TSN journalists learned from his fellow villagers that Vinnyk's wife, Taisia Svatko (stage name - Tayune), is a year younger than him. They have a teenage son who is studying in Germany. Similar information was reported by Vinnyk himself to a German publication.
Political activity
In 2019, he supported the Agrarian Party led by Mykhailo Poplavskyi in the parliamentary elections.
In September 2019, he starred in a propaganda clip with Russian artists and figures who supported the beginning of the temporary annexation of Crimea: Valeriya, Volodymyr Pozner, Ihor Krutiy, Tamara Hverdtsiteli. This caused a significant resonance among the Ukrainian society, causing outrage among the patriotic part of the population. After that, the artist was added to the database of the "Peacemaker" website.
Work in cinema
In parallel with the work in the musical, the young actor starred in the TV series "Unser Charly", which was broadcast in 80 countries of the world for 10 years, in the role of Mykola Bugayev, Germany.
September 2005 - at the invitation of the leading German TV channel ZDF, he starred in the German film "Eine Liebe in Königsberg" ("Love in Königsberg"), with the participation of film and television stars - Wolfgang Stumpf and Christian von Bersche (Germany), as well as Chulpan Khamatova ( Russia). The director is Peter Kahane[41]. The premiere of the film took place on April 30, 2006 on the ZDF channel, Germany.
On May 24, the family animation "The Enchanted Prince" was released on cinema screens, in which the singer acted as an actor of the Ukrainian dubbing, voicing the main character - Prince Philip. The director of the cartoon is Ross Venokur. The song from the artist's third studio album "Roksolana" - "Let me dream" was chosen as the soundtrack for the cartoon. On the eve of the premiere of the animated film, the singer is shooting a music video for this composition
