Biography
He was born on August 27, 1979 in the city of Kyiv in the family of a bandurist-singer, soloist of the National Honored Bandurist Band of Ukraine named after G. Maiborody Volodymyr Voyt the elder. In 2002, he graduated from the National Music Academy of Ukraine named after P. I. Tchaikovsky, bandura class of the department of folk instruments. Electively, he studied old-world folk instruments, practically studied the torban at the Department of Folklore Studies of the Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences in 2001-2002 (supervisor, Honored Worker of Arts of Ukraine V. G. Kushpet). In the same university, he completed an assistantship-internship at the department of folk instruments, specializing in bandura - 2005 (creative director, professor, People's Artist of Ukraine Bashtan S. V.). Master's degree at the National Pedagogical University named after M. P. Dragomanov, Department of Theory and Methodology of Music Education, Choral Singing and Conducting — 2011 (class of professor, People's Artist of Ukraine A. T. Avdievsky). While being a consultant at the fifteenth International Bandura Workshop in Toronto in 2006, he studied the traditional bandura model of Georgy Tkachenko from Viktor Mishalov.
Since 2001, he has been an artist, soloist of the National Honored Bandurist Band of Ukraine named after G. I. Maiborody, Kyiv. Numerous collective and solo performances, tours in Ukraine. Audio recordings of solo episodes of orchestral music making.
In 2008, he became an artist of the orchestra of the National Honored Academic Ukrainian Folk Choir of Ukraine named after H. G. Verovki. In the same year, he was awarded the honorary title of Honored Artist of Ukraine.
Laureate (II prize for the best composition on a folk basis for bandura and III prize for the best concert piece for bandura) at the first Hryhorii Kitastoy International Bandura Composition Competition, which was held by the Canadian Bandura Foundation and the Bandura Chapel. G. Kitastogo, Toronto, Canada, 2000. Laureate (2nd prize) of the International Competition of Performers on Folk Instruments named after H. Hotkevich (2001). In 2006, he became an honorary member of The Canadian Bandurist Capella from Toronto, led by Honored Artist of Ukraine Viktor Mishalov. Joint concerts with the chapel in the province of Manitoba, Canada. ROXOLANA'S DREAM 2005, CD
The debut project of Volodymyr Voyt Jr. The disc presents original works, as well as translations of academic instrumental music for bandura solo. Along with others, two original compositions of the bandurist are presented: the title Roksolana's Dream and Niagara Falls. VoRuV (Canada-Ukraine) 2005.
Other projects
2005—2006 Work on the music for the feature film "Let's break through!", "PRE" production. Volodymyr Voyt, Jr., became one of the winners of the "SoundPREC" or "Music from the People" competition, having written music for the most dramatic and emotionally rich episodes of the film. After the premiere, which took place on March 9, 2006, many episodes of the film were reshot with a changed plot. The release of the soundtrack was delayed.
2006 Cooperation with the Okean Elsa group in the project "Merry, brother, the times have come." On October 15, the premiere of the music video clip shot for the new song of the Okean Elza group with the same name took place. It is the bandura part performed by Volodymyr Voyt Jr. that sounds in this song, accompanying the vocals of Svyatoslav Vakarchuk.
2007 Musical accompaniment to the slide film "Kyiv Panorama". Photo project of the artist and photographer Anatoly Zayka. Improvisational music on the bandura accompanies the video series, which consists of a large number of thematic selection of photos.
