Ivan Vodolsky (on posters A. I., ? - ?) was a nineteenth-century Ukrainian violinist, one of the founders of the Kyiv Violin School.
He studied at the Warsaw Institute of Music in 1860-1863. In 1863, he was one of the organisers of the Kyiv branch of the Russian Musical Society (RMS), where he took part in symphony meetings and other concerts. He performed in ensembles with Mykola Lysenko, Henrik Veniavsky, Vasyl Kolohryvov and others. From 1867 he worked as a soloist at the Kyiv Opera.
The violinist's playing was marked by a precise adherence to the composer's text and style. His repertoire included works by C. V. Büchner and Western European composers.
He was also active in teaching. In the late 1850s, he taught violin at the first and second Kyiv gymnasiums. From 1868 to 1875, he was a lecturer at the RMT Music School. Among his students were prominent violin virtuosos Y. Kotek, O. Kolakovsky, A. Chaban, K. Pyatyhorovych, P. Zolotarenko, Y. Shadek, and others.
