Viyatik Mikhail Fedorovich

1968

Mykhailo Viyatyk (born 1 February 1968, Potik village, Koziv district, Ternopil region, Ukrainian SSR) is an Honoured Artist of Ukraine.

Biography.
In 1987, he graduated from the Khmelnytskyi State Music College, and in 1992, from the Military Conducting Faculty at the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory.

During the period of service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine from 1992 to 2010, under the direction of Major Viyatyk M. F., the military band took part in three reporting concerts of masters of arts and amateur artistic groups in Kyiv in the programmes "Rainbow of Nadzbruchchia" (1999), "I am coming to you Ukraine" (2001) and "Ukraine is united" (2003). The orchestra is a regular participant in regional and national brass band marches and military parades on Independence Square in Kyiv.

From June 1998 to the present, he has been the artistic director of the municipal institution of the Ternopil Municipal Brass Band "Orchestra of Freedom".

Since September 2006, he has been a lecturer in the class of instrumentation and reading orchestral scores at the Department of Orchestral Wind and Percussion Instruments of the Ternopil Regional State Music College named after S. Krushelnytska. Author of the instrumentation programme for students of speciality No. 5.020205 "Musical Art" (specialisation "Orchestral wind and percussion instruments").

From September 2010 to June 2013, he was the conductor of the Ternopil Academic Regional Ukrainian Drama Theatre named after Taras Shevchenko. He composed music for the plays "Three Sisters" by Anton Chekhov, "The Hostess of the Inn" by K. Goldoni, "Pierre Augustin Carole de Beaumarchais "The Marriage of Figaro" (all staged by Honoured Artist of Ukraine Viacheslav Zhylya), and orchestrated music for the play "Fooled" by People's Artist of Ukraine Oleh Mosiychuk. He was the orchestra conductor for the performances of H. Kvitka-Osnovyanenko's "Matchmaking on Goncharivka", S. Hulak-Artemovsky's "Cossack beyond the Danube", and the musical director of M. Starytsky's "Chasing Two Hares".

He composed orchestrations for the pop-symphony orchestra in the TV show "Star + Star" (2011), a solo concert of the TIK band (2011) on the 1+1 TV channel and the international music project Ukraine-Georgia "10+10" on the first national TV channel.

By the nature of his main activity, he has composed about a thousand orchestrations for various wind, symphony, pop-symphony, folk orchestras and various types of ensembles.

Awards and honours
Awards:

Diploma winner of the YIth International Festival-Contest of Ukrainian Song "ZOLOTI TREMBITY" in Ivano-Frankivsk;
Diploma of the III degree of the Ukrainian military-patriotic and marching song "Chervona Kalyna" in Kyiv;
Diploma winner of the first and laureate of the second All-Ukrainian competition of Cossack song "Baida";
second prize winner of the regional competition "Voice of the Heart" for the musical composition "Cossack Way" dedicated to the 10th anniversary of Ukraine's Independence.
Awards: According to the Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 619/2009 of 18 August 2009 "On awarding state awards of Ukraine to employees of enterprises, institutions and organisations", he was awarded the honorary title "Honoured Artist of Ukraine" for his significant personal contribution to the socio-economic and cultural development of the Ukrainian state, significant labour achievements and on the occasion of the 18th anniversary of Ukraine's independence.

He was awarded a number of decorations by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine: "For Diligent Service", "Defender of the Fatherland", the honorary badge of the Chief of the General Staff - Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "For Achievements in Military Service", II degree, and the award of the Mayor of Ternopil, III degree.
