Ivan Matviyovych Vitkovsky (1777- ca. 1844, Kharkiv) was a Ukrainian teacher, violinist, conductor, composer, and entrepreneur. He studied with Johann Sebastian Haydn in Vienna. In 1805-1815 and 1821-1830 he was a music teacher at Kharkiv University and the Institute of Noble Maidens. In 1812 he opened the first music store in the city, and in 1813 he founded the first instrument factory where pianos were made.
He wrote an oratorio for the opening of Kharkiv University (1805), choral and instrumental works, and 6 fantasies for violin and piano (1807, not preserved).
