Viter Valerii Serhiiovych

Viter Valerii Serhiiovych (born 23 June 1947, Kyiv) is a Ukrainian artist, musician, singer. Laureate of All-Ukrainian and International song competitions, Honoured Artist of Ukraine (2010).
Valerii Viter was born on 23 June 1947 in Kyiv.

He studied at the Taras Shevchenko Kyiv Art School. At the age of thirteen, he appeared in the film Ukrainian Rhapsody (1961) by Sergei Parajanov.

1971 - Graduated from the Kyiv Art Institute (now the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture), teachers - S. Hrosh, T. Liashchuk.

He worked as a soloist-vocalist of the world-famous vocal and instrumental ensemble "Kobza" (1971-1987) at the Ukrainian touring and concert association "Ukrconcert". Their work has been captured in films, dozens of records and CDs not only in Ukraine but also in many countries around the world.

Since 2000, he has been the director of the KOBZA ORIGINAL ensemble. His repertoire includes arrangements of Ukrainian folk songs, including "On Ivan Kupala" and "O Gayu-Gayu".

He has a creative studio as a graphic artist with an art club on Antonovycha Street in Kyiv.

Creative achievements
Participated in 170 international, all-Union, republican, regional and group exhibitions.

He has 7 personal art exhibitions.

The artist's first art exhibition was held in 1967.

Participation in a personal exhibition in the art gallery "Lavra" (1998) became a decisive event in his work.

The artist's paintings and graphic works are kept in museums and art galleries of Ukraine, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Germany, Czech Republic, France, Japan, USA, in private collections of 16 countries.

Participation in the International Exhibition in Poland (1974) was a turning point for the artist.

One of the most represented was a personal exhibition in the National Parliamentary Library of Ukraine (2013).

He is the author of a series of posters on civic issues. He creates cinema and theatre posters on socio-political and environmental topics. Viter's work is characterised by originality and brightness, metaphorical imaginative thinking, and the ability to convey the philosophical content of a work of art in a few details.

Together with the author of the lyrics Mykola Syadryty, they created a CD of songs "Mіt" (2013).

Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (1974).
