Vilensky Konstantin Mikhailovich

Konstanty Wileński (born December 25, 1949, Kyiv) is a composer, classical and jazz pianist, and virtuoso. Until the early 1990s, he worked and lived in Kyiv, then moved to Poland.
He was born into a family with a long musical tradition. His grandfather, composer Ilya Vilensky (1896-1975), founded 3 musical theaters in Kyiv and was the first director of the Kyiv Philharmonic. Pianists Heinrich Neuhaus and Volodymyr Horowitz were among the Vilenskyi family's frequent guests.

He graduated from the Kyiv Conservatory in 1974 and completed his postgraduate studies at the Conservatory in 1978. In 1983-1995, he taught harmony and composition at the Kyiv Conservatory.

In 1996-2001, he was the musical director of the Stefan Jeromski Drama Theater in Kielce, Poland.
