Verkina Tatiana

1946-2022

Tetiana Borysivna Verkina (18 September 1946, Kharkiv - 4 July 2022, Nuremberg) was a Ukrainian pianist, singer, teacher, and public figure. People's Artist of Ukraine (2004). Professor. Rector of the I. P. Kotliarevskyi Kharkiv National University of Arts.

Biography.
She was born in the family of a physicist (later academician) B. I. Verkin.

In 1964, she graduated from the Kharkiv Secondary Specialised Music Boarding School in the class of N. Goldinger.

In 1969, she graduated from the Kharkiv Institute of Arts named after I. P. Kotliarevskyi, class of V. D. Zakharchenko.

In 1976, she completed an assistantship - an internship at the Moscow Conservatory under the guidance of E. Malinin.

Since 1969, she has been teaching at the Kharkiv Institute (University) of Arts named after I. P. Kotliarevskyi (since 1988, associate professor, since 1997, professor, in 2003-2020, rector).

Since 1991, he has been the initiator and artistic director of the International Music Festival (since 1992 it has been held under the name Kharkiv Assemblies).

Member of the National All-Ukrainian Music Union. Co-founder of the Foundation for Support of Young Talents (1994), Schubert Society in Kharkiv (1996).

Candidate of Arts (2008, dissertation: "Actual intonation as a performance problem").

Since 2011 - Chairman of the Council of Rectors of Higher Educational Institutions of Culture and Arts of Ukraine of III-IV accreditation levels.
