A graduate of the Conducting Faculty of the Department of Opera and Symphony Conducting of the Mykola Lysenko National Music Academy (class of Lysenko-Didula T. S., 2015). Winner of the First Prize of the All-Ukrainian Festival-Contest of Conducting Art "Musical Tavria" in Kherson (April 2016). Participant of the III International Forum of Young Conductors in Zielona Góra (Poland).
Since his student years, Taras Vergun has been an active participant in the musical life of the Academy and Lviv. He collaborated with the student symphony orchestra of the Mykola Lysenko Lviv National Music Academy under the direction of Professor Z. Ostafiychuk (2009-2015); with the symphony orchestra of the opera studio at the Mykola Lysenko Lviv National Music Academy (2008-2015). Lysenko (2008-2015); with the Lviv Symphony Orchestra "Cantabile Orchestra" (2013-2014); the ensemble of contemporary music "ConstantY" (artistic director - O. Manuliak, 2015), as well as the Academic Chamber Orchestra "Virtuosos of Lviv" (artistic director - S. Burko, 2016).
In 2009, he took part in a masterclass of the Polish conductor, Professor Boguslaw Dawidow. In 2014, he took part in a masterclass by American conductor Douglas Droste at the Lviv Regional Philharmonic. In 2015, he participated in the preparation of the premiere production of J. Elsner's opera The Amazons and masterclasses by Dr. Dr Angelika Moths.
In March 2016, he took part in the III International Forum of Young Conductors in Zielona Góra. As part of the forum, he rehearsed and conducted a concert with the Zielona Góra Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra under the patronage of Prof. Dr Czesław Grabowski. In the same year, he won the first prize of the All-Ukrainian Festival-Competition of Conducting Art "Musical Tavria" in Kherson.
He actively cooperates with the Academic Chamber Orchestra "Virtuosos of Lviv", with which he performs at the Lviv National Philharmonic named after M. Skoryk. As a conductor, he takes part in the Festival of Contemporary Music of Lviv Composers, where he conducts works by V. Kaminsky, O. Kozarenko, M. Skoryk, B. Froliak, Z. Almashi, L. Sydorenko, O. Manuliak, as well as in the Xth musical meetings of Polish and Ukrainian youth (September-October 2016).
