Ures Viktor Yukhymovych

1948-2022

Viktor Yukhymovych Ures (born 31 August 1948, Mykolaiv) is the chief conductor of the Mykolaiv Academic Ukrainian Drama and Musical Comedy Theatre, Honoured Artist of Ukraine.

He began his career in 1970 at the Mykolaiv Philharmonic. He graduated from the Kyiv State Institute of Culture named after O. Korniichuk (1976, course of M. Fridman). In 1982-1986, he was a senior lecturer at the Department of Wind Instruments of the Mykolaiv Branch of the Kyiv State Institute of Culture.

Since 1986, he has been the chief conductor of the Mykolaiv Academic Ukrainian Theatre of Drama and Musical Comedy. He has conducted over 70 performances. He is the author of music for about 30 performances of the theatre.

He was awarded the title of laureate of the Republican Prize named after M. Ostrovsky (1980), the honorary title of "Honoured Artist of Ukraine" (1997), the title of laureate of the Regional Prize named after M. Arkas (2004), and has numerous diplomas and certificates.
