Vasyl Umanets (b. May 2, 1916, Rubchenky village - d. 1996) was a Ukrainian composer, teacher, and bandura player, PhD in Art History, associate professor at the Kyiv Pedagogical Institute.
Born in Kyiv region, he received his musical education at the Kyiv Conservatory (1945). A student of Mykola Hrysenko.
Lecturer at music schools in Kyiv and Dnipro.
Associate professor at the Drahomanov Kyiv Pedagogical University.
Compositions for symphony orchestra, string quartet, solos based on the words of Ukrainian poets, songs for children, arrangements of folk songs; works on Ukrainian choral music.
