Tsymbalistyi Yevhen Mykolayovych

1909-1966

Yevhen Mykolaiovych Tsymbalistyi (1909-1966) was a singer (tenor), conductor, and composer born in the village of Bovshiv, Halych district, Ivano-Frankivsk region.

He studied at the Lviv Conservatory and the Berlin Higher Music School. Since the 1940s, he worked as a conductor of choirs, including the German Radio and Television Orchestra, and as a music teacher in Berlin, and later in Munich, where he died.

Choral and orchestral works: "Suite of Travelling Songs", "Suite of Love Songs"; "Hunting Suite"; cantata on the theme of the biblical words "I am the beginning and the end".

He was buried in the Waldfriedhof cemetery.

Yulian Mykolaiovych Tsymbalistyi (1905-?) was the brother of Yevhen Tsymbalistyi. With the advent of Soviet rule, he left for Poland. He was an artistic director in Kosovo, and in Lviv he became one of the founders of the Trembita Chapel.
