The composer was born in the village of Podillia (now Khmelnytskyi region). Graduated from the Lviv Conservatory (with S. Liudkevych); 1953-57 - artistic director of the Vinnytsia Regional Philharmonic, later a teacher of music at various institutions in Kharkiv - since 1961 - a teacher at the Kharkiv Institute of Culture, since 1962 - Kharkiv Institute of Arts and director of the amateur song and dance ensemble "Hammer and Sickle". His works include a symphony and two poems for symphony orchestra, works for piano and choir, and arrangements of Ukrainian folk songs.
Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1977), Professor (1987).
Composer of works: for symphony orchestra - "Legendary Partisans" (1954), "Epic Poem" (1963), symphony (1968), poem "Otakar Yarosh" (1974), suites - "Song of the Native Land" (1980), 2 cycles "Ukrainian Symphonic Dances" (1982, 1984).
