Tsesevich Platon Ivanovich

1879-1958

Platon Ivanovich Tsesevich (* 7 December 1879 - † 1958) was a Ukrainian opera singer, bass, originally from Belarus.

Biography.
On stage since 1896 in Ukrainian troupes. From 1904 he was a soloist at the Kharkiv Opera, 1907-15 in Odesa, Kharkiv and Kyiv. From 1915 he was a soloist at the Bolshoi Theatre and the Zimin Theatre in Moscow.

In 1916-1923 he performed in cities of Ukraine and the Caucasus, in 1925-26 and 1932 in operas in France and Italy; in 1933-48 he gave concerts throughout the USSR.

In 1919 he sang at the Kyiv Opera House in Musical Drama.
