Torchinsky Vladimir Markovich

1908-1984

Volodymyr Markovych Torchynskyi is a Ukrainian composer.

Biography
Birth. 25 January 1908 in Kyiv in the family of a conductor. He died on 12 March 1984 in the same city. He graduated from the composition and conducting faculty and postgraduate studies at the Tchaikovsky Kyiv Conservatory (1936). He worked as a music editor at Ukrkinokhronika (1938-1941, 1944-1978).

Author of music for films: "Kyiv (1944), Bukovyna (1945), Ukraine Revives (1946), Dniproges (1948), On the Fields of Ukraine (1949), Blooming Ukraine (1950), Kyiv is Being Built (1952), Lviv (1953), Forever Together with the Russian People, "The City of Immortal Glory (1954), In Bukovyna (1955), At the Pioneers of Azovstal (1956), Live, Ukraine, Hoverla (1957), New Bulgaria (1959), We Are from Ukraine (1961), Hutsul Wedding, Ships Do Not Die (1966), and others. He was a member of the Union of Cinematographers of Ukraine.
