Topolnitsky Henrik Henrikovich

1869-1920

Henrik Henrikovych Topolnitsky (7 July 1864, Zolochiv, now Lviv region - 1920, Ternopil) was a composer, lawyer, cultural and public figure.
He was born on 7 July 1864 in Zolochiv (Galicia, now Lviv region, Ukraine).

In 1887-1891, he studied at the Law Faculty of Lviv University, and also studied piano and composition at the local conservatory. In 1891-1895, he was a pianist and a member of the Lviv Music and Choral Society "Boyan". From 1896 (until 1914, probably also before his death) he lived and worked in Ternopil, in particular, he had a law practice.

He was the author of choral works based on the words of Taras Shevchenko ("Khustyna", "Perebendia", "In My House", "Three Ways"), M. Shashkevych, P. Hrabovsky, Y. Shchogolev, and others; collections of folk songs, works for piano.

He died in 1920 in Ternopil.
