Topchiy Nil Grigorievich

1893-1980

Neil Topchiy (b. 13 (25) November 1893, Odesa - d. 31 October 1980, Odesa, Ukrainian SSR) was an opera singer (lyric and dramatic tenor), Honoured Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1956).

Biography.
He studied singing privately. He worked at the Odesa Opera House, first singing in the chorus (1913-1916), then as a soloist (1916-1926, 1927-1933, 1941-1960). He also performed on the opera stages of Kharkiv (1926-1927) and Sverdlovsk (1933-1939).
