Dmytro (Dima) Tkachenko is a contemporary Ukrainian violinist, teacher, and public figure.
Biography
Dmytro was born in Kyiv. He started playing the violin and piano at the age of six. He studied at the Lysenko Kyiv Special Music School. Graduated from the National Music Academy of Ukraine (NMAU) in the class of Bohodar Kotorovych and Yaroslava Rivnyak.
He continued his studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London in the class of Yfrah Neaman. There he received the Premier Prix Concerto Diploma, and a little later a master's degree, and was named a Fellow of the Guildhall Academy. He studied with David Takeno and Krystof Smetana until 2008. At the same time, he completed his postgraduate studies at the NMAU.
Dmytro Tkachenko has won several international competitions, including the Wronski Solo Violin Competition (Warsaw), the Lysenko Competition (Kyiv) and the Nielsen Competition (Odense, Denmark).
