Taranenko Ivan Ivanovich

1965

Ukrainian composer, performer, teacher. Member of the National Union of Composers of Ukraine (1994), Secretary of the Board of the National Union of Ukrainian Artists (2005). Laureate of the Prize named after L. Revutsky (1999), Laureate of the Prize named after M. V. Lysenko (2011), Laureate of the All-Ukrainian Competition named after S. S. Prokofiev (Donetsk, 1991); winner of the Grand Prix of the 5th Charity Festival "Regina-Vladimir Horowitz in Memoriam" (piano and chamber music, Kyiv, 1998), winner of a creative scholarship founded by the "Warsaw Autumn" Friends Foundation from the funds of the "Ernst von Siemens Musikstiftung" in Monaco, commissioned a piece for the International Festival of Electroacoustic Music "Musica Electronica Nova" (Wroclaw, Poland, 2005). Awarded the "Honorary Distinction" of the Mayor of Kyiv "For a significant personal contribution to the development of culture and art" (May, 2002). By the episcopal letter "In blessing for labors for the glory of the Holy Orthodox Church" of Archbishop Artemiy, Grodno and Volkovy (Grodno Diocese of the Belarusian Exarchate - February, 2014)

He graduated from the composition faculty of the Kyiv State Conservatory named after P. I. Tchaikovsky (class of Prof. V. D. Kireik, Prof. A. Ya. Shtogarenko and Prof. G. I. Lyashenko, 1991), postgraduate studies at the National Music Academy of Ukraine named after P. I. Tchaikovsky (class of People's Artist of Ukraine, professor G. I. Lyashenko, 1995).

Worked as a teacher at the Kaniv State School of Culture (1991—1998). Since 1998 — teacher, dean (2000-03) of the faculty of musical art of the Kyiv Children's Academy of Arts, since 1999 — senior teacher of the composition department of the National Music Academy of Ukraine named after P. I. Tchaikovsky.

Participant of the festivals "Kyiv Music Fest" (1992, 1997-99, 2000-09), "Music Premieres of the Season" (Kyiv, 1995-96, 1998—2009), "Autumn Jazz Marathon" (1997—1999), " Kyiv-May-Jazz" (2000), international youth music forums (Kyiv — 1992, 1994, 1995, 1998). As a performer, he performs a solo program of his own works and improvisations. He created the jazz collective "MuzKlub I. Taranenko" (1996), the new name is IvanTaranenkoMUSCLUB (2017), with which he performs as a composer and pianist. Performed with famous performers (N. Matvienko, A. Koropnychekno, Ilaria, O. The composer's works were heard in concert halls in Poland, Germany, Russia, Turkey, Hungary, France, Australia, Belarus, Great Britain, Israel, the USA and are constantly performed in Ukraine.

He is the founder of the annual International Festival of Academic and Contemporary Music "Farbotony" in Kanev (since 1998). Since April 1999, he has been the musical director of the Farbotony International Festival of Academic and Contemporary Music, the president of the Farbotony MFASM Foundation, and since June 2003, he has been the general director of the Farbotony International Festival-Competition of Academic and Contemporary Music. Initiator and founder (together with E. G. Savchuk and M. G. Zhulynskyi), chief director and artistic director of the Shevchenkov art festival "Chernecha Gora" for the 200th anniversary of the birth of Taras Shevchenko (Kaniv, 2014)...

He repeatedly participated in the work of the jury of various competitions. Such as the International Children's and Youth Competition "Silver Bell" (Uzhhorod), the International Competition of Young Composers named after Yu. Semenyaki (Grodno, Belarus), IV Kyiv city competition named after V. Puhalskyi, the International Festival of Orthodox Chants "Kolozhsky Blagovest" (Grodno, Belarus), the International Festival "Hainów Days of Church Music" (Hainivka, Poland).

Head of the jury of the 3rd and 5th All-Ukrainian Open Competitions in memory of P. Tchaikovsky (Kamiyanka, Cherkasy Oblast), Open Competition of Young Performers on Wind Instruments (Ivano-Frankivsk) and others.

Lately, during 2014-2017, Ivan Taranenko has been paying special attention to the development and creative implementation of the fusion project "Music of the Ukrainian Land", which was started by the composer in 2000. ExIvanTaranenkoMUSCLUB, the folk group "Mnogaya Leta", the Rhinomaitne vocal choirs were involved in the Onava unit of the project for creative and experimental research in fusion stylistics (combination of jazz, folk, rock, academic and electronic music, various timbral combinations) and the implementation of the whole project. chamber-instrumental ensembles and orchestras...

As a composer, he belongs to artists who feel completely free in different musical spheres: intellectually deep serious music, jazz, pop music. The creative manner is characterized by amazing frankness, willingness to share the secret.
