Svydiuk Mykola Ivanovych

Mykola Ivanovych Svydiuk (*2 January 1952, Yasne village, Holovanivskyi district, Kirovohrad region) is a Ukrainian composer and singer. People's Artist of Ukraine (2001).
Biography.
He graduated from the Odesa Music College with a degree in accordion, studied to become a conductor of the folk instruments orchestra at the Kyiv Institute of Culture and worked at the Odesa Ukrainian Drama Theatre as the head of the music department. His composing career began with writing instrumental pieces for theatre performances.

As a singer, he made his debut at the Boromlia-91 rural festival. Oksana Bilozir made Svydiuk famous when she sang his song "Donechka". A video film "I love, and laugh, and cry" was quickly shot, and a year later, the record album "Confession of the Soul" was recorded.

Awards and honours
In 1995, Mykola Svydiuk was awarded the title of Honoured Artist of Ukraine, and in 2001 he became People's Artist of Ukraine.

He lives in Odesa.
