Vitaliy Oleksiyovych Svyryd (born 27 April 1956 in the village of Stepovi Khutory, Nosiv district, Chernihiv region) is a Ukrainian musician, singer and composer, Honoured Artist of Ukraine.
Biography.
He was born into a family of teachers. His mother was a primary school teacher, and his father was a musician who also worked at school.
After graduating from the eighth grade of Stepovokhutirsk Secondary School, he entered the Nizhyn Cultural and Educational College, Department of Wind Instruments, where he graduated in 1974 with a degree in flute. During this time, he also learned to play the drums.
From 1974 to 1976, he served in a military orchestra. After his demobilisation, he worked for Ukrconcert as a soloist-vocalist, in the Kyiv Vocal and Dance Company, Malvy, Krayany - Poltava Philharmonic, Echo in Luhansk with Vitaliy Leontyev, in the police orchestra of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and as a soloist of KOMA.
In 1989, he became the winner of the First International Festival "Chervona Ruta" in Chernivtsi with the song "Molba", composed by G. Havrylets on the poems of D. Pavlychko.
He actively performs in Ukraine and abroad, experiments, participates in musical avant-garde projects "Extra Factor", under the direction of musician and composer I. Stetsiuk at the Kyiv State Philharmonic, and the vocal group "Mensaud", with which Vitaliy Svyryd toured the United States.
In 2000, Vitaliy Svyryd graduated from the Kyiv State University of Culture and Arts with a degree in teaching, orchestra artist, orchestra conductor, and vocalist.
In concerts and in the media, he represented the songwriting of composers and poets: D. Pavlychko, L. Kostenko, F. Mlynchenko, N. Zemna, V. Herasymenko, H. Havrylets, I. Kyrylina, V. Khursenko and others.
He took part in patronage concerts and charity events for disabled war veterans, in concerts held on the territory of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in 1986, for international soldiers and orphans.
He has repeatedly represented Ukraine in Poland, Czechoslovakia, France, the USA and other countries.
He has released the audio album My Love, You Are Like God, as well as the CDs We Will Not Part with Love and I Will Come to You.
He has a unique clear, lyrical voice. On stage, he has performed several hundred songs, including "My Love", "There is a Fog in the Valley", "Don't Be Sad", "Odnolyub", "Autumn Song", "Steppe Farms".
Currently, he works at the Ivan Bohun Military Lyceum in Kyiv, where he teaches music and manages amateur performances.
His hobbies are housekeeping and apiary.

In 1989, he won the First International Festival "Chervona Ruta".
In 1992 and 1995, he became a laureate of the International Festival of Contemporary Ukrainian Song "Song Vernissage".
In 1997, he became a laureate of the All-Ukrainian Radio Festival "Song of the Year" with the song "Don't Be Sad".
