Dmytro Sukhovienko (born in 1972) is a Ukrainian pianist.
From his creative biography
At the age of 7, he began studying piano at the Mykola Lysenko Kyiv Secondary Specialised Music Boarding School. He graduated from the Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine in the class of Professor Vsevolod Vorobyov. He continues the traditions of the Felix Blumenfeld piano school. He continued his studies in Switzerland at the Yehudi Menuhin Academy of Music, and later at the Noschatel Conservatory (class of Professor Paul Coker), graduating with honours in 1999.
Winner of the Prix de Virtuosite competition in 1999. He took lessons in masterclasses of such famous musicians as Barry Douglas, Paul Badura-Skoda, Dmitry Bashkirov, Philippe Entramo and others.
He won the second prize at the Clara Schumann International Competition in Düsseldorf (Germany) and the first prize in San Bartolomeo (Italy). He has given concerts with the Düsseldorf, Novosibirsk, Lviv, Strasbourg and Zaporizhzhia Philharmonic Orchestras, the National Symphony Orchestra of the Dominican Republic, the Honoured Academic Symphony Orchestra of the National Radio Company of Ukraine, the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine, and the London Chamber Orchestra.
Since 2005, the pianist has been a Bosendorfer artist, which gave him the opportunity to make his successful debut in one of the most prestigious concert halls in the world - the Musikverein in Vienna. In 2009, Dmytro Sukhovienko performed in the European Parliament and in the most famous hall in Belgium - Bozar.
Dmytro Sukhovienko has recorded five discs and regularly performs at prestigious music festivals. In 2004, under the auspices of UNESCO, a documentary film about the creative life of Dmytro Sukhovienko was made.
In 2012, Dmytro Sukhovienko was invited to give concerts as part of the Francophonie Week in Saudi Arabia. In the same year, he participated as a member of the jury at the Lysenko International Competition in Kyiv.
Since October 2012, Dmytro Sukhovienko has been appointed Artistic Director of a series of concerts at the European Parliament in Brussels.
