He is the author of symphonic, chamber, jazz and popular music, as well as music for four dozen films and TV shows made in Ukraine, Russia, Germany, France, Italy and the USA. One of the founders of the national school of electronic music.
Among his works: "Sacral Dances, a fantasy in the style of symphonic jazz-rock (2011), Jody Suite for orchestra and men's choir (2007), This is Your Country, a suite for symphony orchestra, academic and children's choirs, vocal folklore group, folk instruments, rock band, synthesiser (1999), Pavana, a composition for symphony orchestra, choir, vocal folklore group, soprano and guitar based on the theme of G. Fauré (1997), "Ukraine has not yet died", a composition for eight soloists, symphony orchestra, children's choir and rock band to a melody by M. Verbytskyi, poem by P. Chubynskyi. Chubynsky (2000) (an audio recording of this version of the National Anthem of Ukraine is available in the Hall of Spiritual Achievements of the Ukrainian People at the National Museum of History of Ukraine), Ragtime for strings and percussion (1990), Concerto grosso for flute, harpsichord and chamber orchestra (1986), Quartet for two violins, viola and cello (1987), Spring Triptych for a cappella choir (1987), a cycle of interpretations for electronic synthesisers of world classical music (1983-1990); music for theatre performances, TV shows, music for TV channels and radio stations; jazz-rock compositions, songs; arrangements, transcriptions and translations of world academic, jazz and song classics for different performers.
The composer's artistic and aesthetic principles are based on a combination of contrasting, even opposite spheres from the entire arsenal of musical expression: symphonicism as a principle of intonation development and jazz instrumentation, Ukrainian archaic melody and electronic textures, etc. His orchestrations are marked by brilliance and colourfulness. His compositions are characterised by large-scale symphonic forms and genre, democratic at the same time.
