Stetsenko Vadim Kirillovich

1914-1984

Vadym Stetsenko is a Ukrainian composer, violinist, one of the founders of the Ukrainian violin school, professor, PhD in Art History.

Biography
Birth. 15 April 1914 in the village of Holovo-Rusava, Vinnytsia region, in the family of composer K. Stetsenko. He died on 30 March 1984 in Kyiv.

He graduated from the Kyiv Conservatory (1936) and completed postgraduate studies at it (1940).

He taught at the Kyiv (1940-1941, 1959-1984) and Lviv Conservatories (1946-1959). He headed the violin departments at these conservatories.

He composed music for a number of films.

Compiler of dozens of collections of violin pedagogical repertoire and musicological works, author of the classical monograph "Methods of playing the violin".
