Yevhen Fedorovych Stankovych (born 19 September 1942, Svaliava, Transcarpathian region) is a Ukrainian composer. Honoured Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1980). People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1986). Hero of Ukraine (2008). Member of the Verkhovna Rada of the Ukrainian SSR of the 11th convocation, Chairman of the National Union of Composers of Ukraine in 2005-2010.
Yevhen Stankovych was born in the city of Svaliava in the family of teachers. At the age of 10, he started studying at a music school (accordion class), continued his studies at the Uzhhorod Music College in the class of accordionist and composer Stepan Marton, and later - in the class of cellist Y. Basel. After graduating from the music school, he studied composition with Adam Soltys at the Mykola Lysenko Lviv State Conservatory. A number of other musical subjects (harmony, reading scores, polyphony, etc.) were taught by such famous musicians as Stanislav Liudkevych, Roman Simovych, Anatoliy Kos-Anatolsky, and Stefania Pavlyshyn. Yevhen Stankovych studied in Lviv for six months, after which he was drafted into the army. After completing his military service, he continued his studies at the Kyiv Conservatory in the class of Borys Liatoshynskyi, and from 1968 - Myroslav Skoryk. After graduating from the Conservatory in 1970, he worked as a music editor at the Musical Ukraine publishing house.

He has been a member of the CPSU since 1975.

Since 1976 - Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Kyiv Organisation of the Union of Composers of Ukraine. Since 1979 - Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Union of Composers of Ukraine. Since 1984 - Secretary of the Board of the Union of Composers of Ukraine. He was Chairman of the Board (1990-1993) and Chairman (2004-2010) of the Union of Composers of Ukraine; since 1988, he has been a professor at the National Music Academy of Ukraine, Head of the Department of Composition. In 2017, he headed the organising committee of the All-Ukrainian Open Music Olympiad "Voice of the Country".
