Spasokukotskyi Lev Oleksandrovych

1912-1960

Lev Oleksandrovych Spasokukotskyi (14 September 1912, Nikolske village, Danilovskiy district, Yaroslavl province - 25 May 1960, Kyiv) was a Ukrainian composer and music teacher.

In 1945, he graduated from the Kyiv Conservatory with a degree in composition from B. M. Liatoshynskyi and began teaching composition and music analysis. In 1951, he defended his PhD thesis on "The Cantata Genre in the Works of Ukrainian Soviet Composers".
