Soltys Yaroslav Andriyivych

Yaroslav Soltys (born 1 September 1948 in Bychkivtsi village, Chortkiv district, Ternopil region) is a Ukrainian singer, People's Artist of Ukraine, Honoured Worker of Culture of Ukraine.
Biography.
Yaroslav Soltys was born on 1 September 1948 in the village of Bychkivtsi, Ternopil region. In 1963-1967, he studied at the choral department of the Terebovlia Cultural and Educational School.

After serving in the army, since December 1969, he has been working as a soloist of the choir of the Honoured Academic Bukovyna Song and Dance Ensemble of Ukraine.

He graduated from the choirmaster's faculty of the Kyiv Institute of Culture in absentia.

Together with the ensemble, he successfully toured the largest concert halls of the former Soviet Union and abroad.

In 2002, he signed a contract with the DON KOZAKEN Choir based in Germany, and as a leading soloist he successfully worked in this group until December 2005. As a soloist of this choir, he performed in the best concert halls in Europe. After the end of his contract, he continued his creative activity in the Bukovinian Song and Dance Ensemble of Ukraine, with which, in particular, he performed in Ternopil at the opening of the Singing Field (1986), at the celebration of its 20th anniversary (2006), and at the Shevchenko Literary and Artistic Festival (2007).
