Volodymyr Ivanovych Solianyk (born 6 August 1950, Leonidovo, Poronaysky district, Sakhalin region) is a Ukrainian jazz musician, virtuoso pianist, teacher, professor at the Reinhold Glier Kyiv Academy of Music, People's Artist of Ukraine (2019).
Biography
1972 - graduated from the Faculty of Music and Pedagogy of the Kyiv Pedagogical Institute.
1979-1981 - studied at the Kyiv Conservatory (class of composition - Yurii Ishchenko).
1970-1971 - director of the variety orchestra of the Kyiv Motorcycle Plant Club.
1972 - musical director of the ensemble at Ukrconcert.
1973 - work in the Kyiv Association of Musical Ensembles.
1974-1975; 1978; 1983 - works at the Sochi Association of Musical Ensembles.
1976-1977 - director of the vocal and instrumental ensemble of the Tula Philharmonic "XX Century".
1977 - director of the Mriya vocal ensemble of the Kyiv Philharmonic.
1982 - pianist of the ensemble of the Chernivtsi Philharmonic "Zhyva Voda".
Since 1984, he has been teaching at the Reinhold Glier Kyiv Academy of Music, professor.
He is a virtuoso pianist who plays in a variety of jazz styles: classical jazz, ethno-jazz, fusion, mainstream, blues, new age.
In 1995 and 1997 he performed with the British saxophonist George Haslam.
