Member of the national unions of Ukraine: theater workers, kobzars, journalists, writers, and the All-Ukrainian Music Union.
Biography.
Oleksandr Smyk was born on October 26, 1957, in the village of Hruzke, now Krolevets community, Konotop district, Sumy region, Ukraine.
He graduated from the Faculty of Pedagogy of Rivne State Pedagogical Institute (1977, now the State Humanitarian University) and Taras Shevchenko University of Kyiv (1983).
Organizer of the first private House of Creativity "Irva Stream" in Kremenets. Kremenets (2004).
Author of the idea and curator of the project of the library-museum "Literary Ternopil" (2012).
Head of the Department of Culture and Arts of the Ternopil City Council (2010-2014).
Deputy Mayor of Ternopil for Humanitarian Affairs (October 2014 - November 2015).
Since July 2015 - Chairman of the regional organization of the NUJU.
Head of the Department of Culture and Arts of the Ternopil City Council (2015-2020)
He lived and worked in Ternopil and Kremenets.
Died on May 18, 2022 in Ternopil, where he was buried on May 20 at Mykulynets Cemetery.
