Skakun Vitaly Mikhailovich

Vitalii Mykhailovych Skakun (born 22 February 1950) is a Soviet and Ukrainian conductor, composer, member of the NSCU. People's Artist of Ukraine.

From his creative biography
Graduated from the Tchaikovsky Kyiv State Conservatory in 1973 with a degree in choral conducting and music teaching from the class of Honoured Artist of Ukraine D. Zavadynskyi.

In 1980, he graduated from the same conservatoire in the class of Professor V. Hnedash, specialising in opera and symphony conducting.

In 1979-1990, he worked as a conductor in various orchestras in Kyiv.

Since 1991, he has been working as a conductor of the Gogol Academic Music and Drama Theatre in Poltava, where in 2000 he organised the Poltava Symphony Orchestra.

Laureate of the P. Myrnyi Literary and Art Prize. Honoured Artist of Ukraine. People's Artist of Ukraine.
