Sivohip Volodymyr Stepanovych

1965

Ukrainian musicologist, choral conductor, educator, general director of the Lviv National Philharmonic, Honored Artist of Ukraine, People's Artist of Ukraine (2021).

Biography.

He graduated from the Faculty of History and Theory of the Mykola Lysenko Lviv Conservatory and completed postgraduate studies at the Rylsky Institute of Music and Philosophy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

From 1990 to 2006, he served as the executive secretary of the Lviv branch of the National Union of Composers of Ukraine, and in 2005 he became a member of the organization's Board.

Since 1999, he has been an artistic director and conductor of the Gloria Chamber Choir.

Director of the International Contemporary Music Festival "Contrasts", which has been successfully held 22 times in Lviv, and dozens of other festivals are held under his patronage ("Music of Ukrainians Abroad", "Composers of Ukraine - in Memory of Holodomor Victims", "Lysenko's Music in Lviv" festival, etc.)

Since 2006, he has been the General Director of the Lviv National Philharmonic. He teaches at the Mykola Lysenko Lviv National Music Academy.
