Sidorenko-Malyukova Tamara

1919-2005

Tamara Sydorenko-Malyukova (b. 15 February 1919 - 2005) was a composer, music teacher, Honoured Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1981).
She was born on 15 February 1919 in the village of Krasne, Skadovsk district, Kherson region.

In 1937, she graduated from the Mykolaiv Music School with a degree in piano.

In 1946, she graduated from the Odesa Conservatory with a degree in composition. A student of S. Orfeiev.

Since 1946, she has been a lecturer at the Odesa Conservatory, since 1964 - Associate Professor. In 1966 - 1970, she headed the Department of Theory and Composition.

In 1954 - 1968 and since 1976, she was the chairman of the board of the Odesa regional organisation of the Union of Composers of the Ukrainian SSR.

In 1956, she wrote the music for the film Horses Are Not to Blame.

Creative activity
The author of the ballet "Magic Slippers" (1982); vocal and symphonic triptych on the poems of E. Mezelaitis (1977); 3 symphonies (1946, 1950, 1986); concerts with orchestra: for harp (1981), for soprano (1987); chamber instrumental works; 5 vocal cycles on the poems of Lesia Ukrainka, F. Garcia Lorca, S. A. Yesenin, romances; arrangements of folk songs, music for theatre performances and films.

In 2004, she participated in the work of the creative team that created the anthem of Mykolaiv.
