Sidir Orest Yaroslavovych

1961

Orest Sidir (born 20 May 1961) is a Ukrainian opera singer (baritone), People's Artist of Ukraine.

Biography.
Orest Sydir was born in 1961 in Starosambir district. He began his professional musical education as a student of the Sambir Cultural and Educational School, majoring in trumpet.

After completing his military service in the army, he entered the Drohobych Pedagogical Institute, Department of Music and Pedagogy. On the recommendation of his teacher Oleh Tsyhylyk, he entered the Lviv Conservatory, the vocal faculty (class of Prof. Kushpler I. F.), which he successfully graduated from in 1989.

Since 1989, he has been a soloist at the Opera Studio at the Lviv State Conservatory. Since 1994, he has been a soloist at the Lviv Opera Theatre.

Orest Sydir has been working at the Department of Choral Conducting since 1993, and in 2002 he began working as a senior lecturer at the Department of Solo Singing at the Mykola Lysenko Lviv National Music Academy.

As a member of the opera theatre company, he has toured Europe, including Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Poland, France, and Switzerland.
