It was to the Lviv "Boyanov" that the composer dedicated his two great works: a collection of folk songs "It was impossible to cut down a green oak tree" and the cantata "The Dnieper roars". In 1894, Denys Sichynskyi, together with I. Frank, M. Pavlyk, O. Rozdolskyi, F. Kolessa, and O. Nyzhankivskyi participated in the creation of a committee in Lviv for the collection and publication of Ukrainian folk songs.
