Mykhailo Shved (21 November 1978, Lviv) is a Ukrainian composer, musician and public figure, Honoured Artist of Ukraine, Candidate of Arts, Acting Director General of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine (since 28 December 2022).
He was born on 21 November 1978 in Lviv. He graduated from the Lviv Music Academy and completed an assistantship with M. Skoryk (1996-2004). He took part in the Gaude Polonia programme in Krakow (2005). Member of the National Union of Composers of Ukraine (since 2003). Candidate of Arts (2006).
M. Shved's works have been performed in Poland, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Canada, Russia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, etc. Among the performers are the symphony orchestras of the Lviv and Chernivtsi Philharmonic, the National Ensemble of Soloists "Kyiv Camerata", the chamber orchestra "Leopolis" and "Perpetuum mobile", chamber choirs "Gloria", "Credo", pianists Y. Yermin, M. Humetska, bass-baritone R. Bergmann (Austria), sopranos S. Hleba (Ukraine), M. Boberska (Poland), mezzo-soprano S. Toledo (Chile-Germany), (Ukraine), conductors S. Velyanyk, R. Revakovych (Poland), Bohdan Shved (Ukraine-Switzerland), V. Syvokhyp, Y. Sozansky, B. Plish (Ukraine), etc.
