Ostap Ivanovych Shutko (04.11.1976, Lviv) is a Ukrainian violinist. The son of Ukrainian violinist Lidia Ostapivna Shutko.
Biography.
Born in Lviv in the family of famous musicians. From early childhood, he had the opportunity not only to receive an excellent education, but also to constantly be in a musical environment, to communicate with outstanding artists.
At the age of 14, Ostap Shutko made his debut on the stage of the Lviv Philharmonic accompanied by the symphony orchestra. Since then, he has been performing constantly.
After graduating with honours from the Lviv Specialised Music Boarding School named after S. Krushelnytska (teachers - H. Heifitz and I. Shutko) and the Lviv Higher Music Institute named after M. Lysenko (now the Academy) (teacher - Professor L. Shutko), Ostap continued his career. Shutko) Ostap continued his postgraduate studies with Professor I. Niemann at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London and at the National Music Academy named after Petro Tchaikovsky in Kyiv with Professor Bohodar Kotorovych.
While still studying in Lviv, Ostap became a laureate of prestigious international competitions in Vilnius, Weimar, Przemysl, Barcelona, and Kyiv, and a scholarship holder of the President of Ukraine, the Queen of Spain, and UNESCO.
Meetings with such musicians as I. Bezrodnyi, Z. Bron, A. Lysyi, S. Sondetskis, D. Bashkirov, L. Spiller, M. Estrella, and L. Vitoshynskyi had a great influence on the formation of the violinist's personality. During this period, Ostap became interested in chamber music: He creates the Ukrainian Quartet, which represents Ukraine at quartet competitions in France and Italy. He is a concertmaster in international youth symphony orchestras in Bayreuth and London.
After returning to Ukraine, Ostap Shutko worked for some time in the Kyiv Soloists State Concert Orchestra, with which he won the Grand Prix at the international competition in Vienna and began his teaching career as a lecturer at the NMAU Violin Department, becoming the youngest lecturer in the department's history.
Shutko's concert activity does not stop. He performs all over Europe as a soloist, in a duet with his mother, People's Artist of Ukraine Lidiya Shutko, as a chamber musician, and with his newly formed ensemble, U-trio.
In 2001, the Academy of Arts of Ukraine awarded Ostap Shutko an honorary diploma "For High Professional Excellence".
Ostap Shutko has performed in many countries around the world, including Spain, Italy, Germany, Poland, Switzerland, France, Austria, England, etc., has a CD, as well as recordings on radio and television, and is a jury member at international music competitions.
